The Staff Attorney is responsible for advising on general corporate matters, legal and compliance issues as well as coordinating with outside law firms on assigned legal matters. Primary
Responsibilities: Reviews, drafts, and negotiates contracts for use with Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources, along with customers and vendors as assigned. Supports executives and employees on customer agreements including advising on drafting, liabilities, services, warranties, and products. Performs due diligence in all matters pertaining to merger & acquisition activities and divestitures. Assists with HR and employment law matters, including responding to government requests, employee and customer complaints, health and safety issues, and immigration concerns. Provides sound legal advice pertaining to US and non-US laws and regulations concerning manufacturing, labeling, and import/export issues. Supports and advises on ethics and compliance across the company including company training offerings and committees. Conducts research on relevant legal and regulatory issues including memo drafting. Knowledge & Skill Requirements: Juris Doctor from an accredited school of law required, along with a current license to the bar. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a law firm corporate practice or as an in-house attorney. Project management experience, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Negotiating skills. Strong ability to write and interpret contracts. Ability to conduct legal research. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
